The 1913 School - A Montessori Community

Montessori from the Beginning

The 1913 School is a Montessori community specializing in the care and education of infants and young toddlers.

We believe even the youngest children are capable, curious, and deserving of an environment created especially for them. Our Nido and Toddler Communities are thoughtfully prepared to support movement, independence, language, concentration, and each child's growing sense of self.

Our guides are actively engaged in Montessori education and AMI coursework, bringing what they learn into their daily practice as we build a program rooted in authentic Montessori principles.

Here, Montessori doesn't begin at preschool. It begins at the very beginning.

Infant Nido

A peaceful, carefully prepared environment designed for your baby's earliest development. Our Nido supports freedom of movement, secure attachment, language, sensory exploration, and growing independence - all within the predictable rhythms of each individual child.

Toddler Community

As children become increasingly independent, our Toddler Community offers meaningful opportunities to move, communicate, care for themselves and their environment, and participate in everyday life. Children are given time, space, and purposeful work within an environment prepared specifically for this plane of development.
